Girolamo Troppa,

Darstellung des legendären Liebespaares unter Bäumen, während Angelica ihre Namen in die Baumrinde ritzt. Die Episode entstammt dem Epos „Orlando Furioso“ (Der rasende Roland) von Ariost von 1532, war auch Stoff für Händels spätere Oper „Orlando“. Die gezeigte Szene findet in der Oper im II. Akt statt, dort jedoch in der Variante, dass Medoro die Namen der beiden Liebenden in die Rinde ritzt.
