Große japanische Elfenbeinfigur eines Fischers

Der Fischer in leichter Schritthaltung mit vorgebeugtem Oberkörper auf einer Rasenplinte stehend, der Kopf leicht geneigt, der Mund lächelnd geöffnet. Die rechte Hand hält eine lange Angelrute. Auf dem Rücken ein durch Stoffbänder angebundener Deckelkorb. Ein Bambusgefäß mit Kordel und muschelförmigem Netsuke am Gürtel. Dekor der Kleidung fein graviert und braun getönt. Die Elfenbeinbodenplatte an der Unterseite reich floral graviert mit zweizeiliger Signaturkalligraphie. (107036225) (11)

Legs slightly astride, a fisherman is positioned on a grass knoll with his upper body and head tilted to one side and his mouth in an open smile. He holds a long fishing rod in his right hand and a lidded basket is attached to his back with cloth bands. He carries a bamboo vessel with a cord and a shell-shaped netsuke on his belt. Décor and clothing are finely engraved and tinted in brown. The ivory base plate is engraved with rich floral décor and two-line signature calligraphy.
