Beigegeben eine Bestätigung von Francesca Baldassari, Florenz, vom 19. Februar 2018, in Kopie.
Vor unbestimmtem Grund, der nur durch einige Architekturstreben das Raumgefüge eines ruralen Gebäudes erhält, sitzen im Zentrum die caravaggesk erhellten Maria mit dem Kinde, zu ihren Seiten der in einem Buch lesende Josef oder Joachim, rechts die Heilige Anna. Die Figuren bis auf das Jesuskind mit einem Ringnimbus bedacht. Eine weitere Version, in der Josef ins hintere Zentrum gerückt ist (115 x 147) wird in der Staatlichen Kunsthalle Karlsruhe (Inv.Nr. 458) verwahrt. Durch die Figurenvariation wird die Wahrscheinlichkeit erhöht, dass es sich bei dem vorliegenden Gemälde um eine eigenhändige Variante handelt.

In another version, Joseph is positioned near the centre at the rear (115 x 147 cm), held at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe (inv. no. 458). The figural variations increase the likelihood that the present painting is an autograph version.
