An einem orientalischen Torbogen in nachmittäglichem Licht ein Bote mit Brief in der Tür stehend, in der ihn eine verschleierte Frau empfängt. Links im Vordergrund ein Pferd in den Bildraum einleitend. Pasini, dessen Werke in zahlreichen Museen vertreten sind, reiste viel und konnte so Eindrücke in Ägypten, am Roten Meer, in Arabien, Persien und mehrfach auch in Istanbul sammeln. (14014833) (13)
