Weiter Blick auf das Meer, das in vielen grünen, hellblauen und gelben Farbtönen bei sommerlichem Licht schimmert und linksseitig von Meeresfelsen flankiert wird. In der linken Bildhälfte des Hintergrundes die Silhouette einer Bergkette, darüber ein hoher Himmel in meist hellblauen, rosa und gelben Farbtupfern in impressionistischer Manier.
1884 war Schlobach Mitbegründer der Gruppe Les XX, die für ihre dunstigen, atmosphärischen Gemälde bekannt war. 1887 zog er nach London. Gegen Ende des Jahrzehnts war sein Werk zunehmend von neoimpressionistischen Einflüssen geprägt, doch nach 1894 kehrte er zu seinem früheren impressionistischen Stil zurück. (1461802) (18)
