Stehender Damenakt, von einem Textil hinterfangen.
Der Künstler kam 1878 nach Paris und war zunächst als technischer Zeichner tätig. Fünf Jahre später ließ er sich am Montmartre nieder. Er wurde dort vor allem für seine Plakatentwürfe, insbesondere für das Cabaret „Le Chat Noir“ im Stil der französischen Kunstrichtung Art Nouveau bekannt. Er fand seine Motive bevorzugt auch im Alltagsleben; sie schildern das Handeln der kleinen Leute. (1471873) (13)
