An einem Nachmittag erstrahlt das ehrwürdige Kollosseum in warmem Abendlicht, davor sind auf einer Anhöhe, wohl vor der Kirche San Sebastiano al Palatino, ein Heuwagen und eine Gruppe von Frauen auszumachen, die teils im Handel mit ihren Kunden beschäftigt sind, teils Marktwaren transportieren.
Anmerkung:
Robert Alott, der eigentlich Robert Kronawetter hieß, war Österreicher und wirkte in der Düsseldorfer Schule, sodass sich dem Betrachter spontan der Vergleich zu Oswald Achenbach (1827-1905) aufdrängt, von dem er geprägt wurde. (12606775) (3) (13)

Robert Alott, also known as “Robert Kronawetter” was an Austrian, who was active in the School of Dusseldorf and his work is reminiscent to works by Oswald Achenbach (1827-1905) who influenced him.
