Das Ecce Homo zeigt eine helle, fast leuchtende Gestalt im Hüftbild, der Körper leicht gedreht, die Hände gebunden. Der gesenkte Kopf und der müde, innerlich versunkene Blick vermitteln einen besonderen emotionalen Zustand. Das blass-gräulich-gelbe Inkarnat erscheint von links beleuchtet und hebt sich vor einem tiefdunklen Hintergrund ab, wodurch die stille Dramatik der Szene betont wird. Typisch für die neapolitanische Schule des 17. Jahrhunderts verbinden sich starkes Chiaroscuro und realistische Körperlichkeit zu einer bewegenden Darstellung, die sich bewusst vom idealisierten Formenkanon absetzt. (1462241) (17)
