Die Darstellung in Grisaille imitiert als Trompe-l’oeil ein Marmorrelief. Im Mittelpunkt der am Kreuz hängende Jesus. Zu seinen Füßen die kniende und weinende Maria Magdalena, die das Kreuz mit ihren Armen umfasst und ihren Kopf mit den langen Haaren an seine Füße schmiegt. Rechts im Hintergrund ein hoher Felsen und eine Palme, wohl als Hinweis auf Maria Magdalenas späteres Leben als Einsiedlerin in der Wüste. Links im Hintergrund der als Barock-Kirche gestaltete Tempel von Jerusalem mit Glockenturm. Im Vordergrund links der Schädel Adams mit Gebeinen, der Golgata seinen Namen gab. (1460339) (18)
