Maurice Utrillo,

Der Bahnhof, der am 10. Juli 1854 auf der Strecke Paris – Lyon seinen Dienst aufnahm, diagonal in den Bildgrund führend, der von belaubten Bäumen an einer Straße gesäumt wird. Utrillo konzentriert sich in seiner Darstellung auf die perspektivische Linienführung der Architektur und Straße und lässt nur fünf Figuren die bereits durch Bäume belebte Szene als Auflockerung zu. Das kontrastierende Rot und Schwarz der Dächer kulminiert koloristisch im grau-rosa Himmel, der die Szene überfängt.
