Franceschini war ein Meister des barocken Klassizismus, seine zarten Figuren erscheinen stets würdevoll und wenig lieblich. So nimmt es nicht wunder, dass seine Werke auch Sammlungen berühmter Museen wie dem Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York oder dem Museum of Fine Arts in Houston zieren. Die Entwürfe für dieses Set von zwei (bei der Londoner Auktion noch sechs) Werken wurden von Fürst Johann Adam Andreas I von Liechtenstein (1657 – 1712) in Auftrag gegeben, um im Venus-Zimmer des Gartenpalais Liechtenstein in Wien aufgehängt zu werden (siehe Miller, 1991, S. 79 – 87).

The designs for this set of two (originally six at the London auction) works were commissioned by Prince Johann Adam Andreas I of Liechtenstein (1657 – 1712) to be displayed in the Venus Room of the Liechtenstein Garden Palace in Vienna (see Miller, 1991, pp. 79 – 87).
