Helidon Xhixha,

Im Juni 2007 präsentierte Xhixha das Denkmal „Renaissance of Towers” auf der Cornice International Art Fair in Venedig, um den Opfern des 11. September zu gedenken. Die über sechs Meter hohe Skulptur aus Edelstahl mit einem Gewicht von etwa drei Tonnen wurde bereits in zahlreichen Kulturhauptstädten wie Florenz und Berlin ausgestellt. Durch die Darstellung der amerikanischen Flagge wird das Werk zu einem gesellschaftlichen Symbol und ruft gleichzeitig zeitgenössische Ideen hervor. Was seine Herangehensweise an das Thema angeht, ließ sich Helidon Xhixha, der mit kompositorischer Präzision arbeitet, von den Twin Towers inspirieren und integrierte dann die Symbolik der Sterne, die für das Bekenntnis und den Wert der nationalen und territorialen Zugehörigkeit zur Flagge der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika stehen, in sein Werk.

RENAISSANCE OF TOWERS, 2007

In June 2007, Xhixha presented the monument “Renaissance of Towers” at the Cornice International Art Fair in Venice to commemorate the victims of September 11. The stainless-steel sculpture, which is over six meters high and weighs around three tons, has already been exhibited in numerous cultural capitals such as Florence and Berlin. The representation of the American flag makes the work a social symbol and at the same time evokes contemporary ideas.
In terms of his approach to the subject, Helidon Xhixha, who works with compositional precision, was inspired by the Twin Towers and then integrated into his work the symbolism of the stars, which represent the commitment and value of national and territorial belonging to the flag of the United States of America.
