Im Zentrum des Bildes ist ein adeliges Paar zu sehen, das sich an einem Waldrand für eine Pause auf einem Stein niedergelassen hat. Neben dem Paar steht wartend ein Pferd, ein Hund als Zeichen der Treue, steht zu Füßen des Paares.
