Über den mit einigen Gondeln und Fährschiffen belebten Canal Grande fällt der Blick auf die Kirche Santa Maria della Salute. Der stark verschattete Bau ragt in den mit dramatischen Wolken versehenen Himmel, der einen Großteil des Bildgrundes einnimmt. Der leichte Pinselduktus erzeugt eine qualitätsvolle gedämpfte Farbgebung. Die schnell gemalten Staffagefiguren verleihen dem Bild eine Bewegtheit, die einen Kontrast zum ruhenden Wasser darstellen und dem Gemälde Spannung verleihen. (1462112) (10)
