Antiveduto Grammatica,
1571 Siena – 1626 Rom

Die Zuschreibung an Antiveduto Gramatica wurde erstmals 1971 von Alfred Moir getätigt; Giovanni Papi hat das vorliegende Werk laut Christie’s in das Spätwerk des Künstlers eingeordnet.

In einem angedeuteten architektonischen Gefüge eingeordnet, das Christuskind eine absteigende Diagonale beschreibend, dahinter am nächsten seine Mutter Maria in einem geöffneten Buch lesend, links dahinter in bewegter Pose die Heilige Anna mit erhobenen Armen.

The attribution to Antiveduto Gramatica was first made in 1971 by Alfred Moir; according to Christie’s, Giovanni Papi has classified the present work as one of the artist’s late works.
