Vor unbestimmtem Grund das nach links gerichtete Brustbildnis des Heiligen Hieronymus mit kardinalsrotem Umhang und dem links angeschnittenen Kopf des ihm attributiv zukommenden Löwen. Links oben, aus den Wolken kommend, die Mündung der Posaune des Jüngsten Gerichtes, durch die Hieronymus das Ende der Welt angekündigt wird. Im Werk des Anthonius van Dyck erscheint der büßende Hieronymus mehrfach und das Gesicht erinnert stark an diesen Heiligen in seiner Komposition, die beim RKD in Den Haag unter Nummer 241291 verzeichnet ist und 47,4 x 42,5 cm misst.
