Beigegeben eine Händlerexpertise von Paul Adelhoch, Westerland, 20. Juli 2004.
Niedriger Horizont mit abschließender, steil abfallender Düne und vorgelagertem Strand, der sanft in das kabbelige Meer übergeht. Im Vordergrund liegt eine Reuse, im Mittelgrund sind Fischer mit ihrem abgetakelten Segelboot beschäftigt.
Ebenso wie sein Bruder Oswald Achenbach (1827–1905) war Andreas Achenbach einer der bedeutendsten Landschaftsmaler seiner Zeit. Führender Maler der Düsseldorfer Malerschule. Schüler von Wilhelm Friedrich von Schadow (1788–1862), später in Frankfurt und München tätig. Freund von Alfred Rethel (1816–1859) am Städelschen Kunstinstitut.
