Auf freiem Feld, unter hohem weiß-grauen Himmel, die teils berittenen kämpfenden Soldaten. Im Mittelpunkt läuft ein Fahnenträger nach rechts und wird dabei von einem Soldaten auf einem braunen Pferd mit Degen verfolgt. Hinter ihm ein Mann auf einem Schimmel in Rüstung und Hut, mit seiner rechten Hand gerade einen Schuss auf einen Soldaten abfeuernd. Von links nähert sich ein ganzer Trupp mit hochragenden Lanzen und einer zerschlissenen Flagge. Im Vordergrund sind bereits drei Soldaten zu Boden gegangen. Malerei in zurückhaltender Farbgebung.
