Das Gemälde ist als Allegorie zu verstehen: Im Zentrum ein Knäblein mit blauem Schulterband, das in vehementer Gestik ein Mädchen links am roten Quastenband festhält, während ein weiteres Kind am rechten Bildrand sich entfernt und nur noch durch das Hinterteil zu sehen ist. Dazwischen ein Knäblein mit einem Prunkgefäß. Bei genauerer Betrachtung ist das Thema als Allegorie der Eifersucht zu deuten. Komposition und Lichtwirkung von hoher Qualität. (11108910) (11)

Student of Antonio Zanchi (1631 - 1722) in Venice, later influenced by Carlo Maratti (1625 - 1713) in Rome, and also by Guido Reni (1575 - 1642), Paolo Veronese (1528 - 1588) and Pietro da Cortona (1596 -1669).
