Zoubtchenko gehört zur zweiten Generation der so genannten École de Paris in der Nachkriegszeit, die sich mit der reinen Form und Farbe auseinandersetzt. Künstlerisch ist ihr Werk geprägt durch die Einflüsse ihrer Künstlerkollegen und -freunde, darunter Nicolas de Staël und André Lanskoy, dessen Schülerin und Mitarbeiterin Zoubtchenko in den Jahren 1958 - 1976 war.
