Als Gegenstücke gearbeitet, demgemäß gegeneinander stehend, ein Pferd auf den Hinterhufen stehend, vorne leicht hochspringend. Das andere Pferd auf zwei Beinen, der rechte Vorder- und linke Hinterhuf angehoben. Schöne, braune Alterspatina. Die Pferde auf achteckigem Sockel in weiß-grauem Marmor. Sockelwand mit Kannelurmotiv über schmalem Plinthensockel. Die Figuren sind einem Mailänder Bildhauer zuzuweisen, der im ausgehenden 16. Jahrhundert gewirkt hat, der Einfluss Leonardos ist unverkennbar. Der Grundentwurf geht Zeichnungen Leonardos zurück. Die plastische Ausführung sowie der Guss in hoher Qualität. Guss nach Wachsmodell, in verlorener Form. Die Sockel wohl erst im 18. Jahrhundert zugegeben.

Base Length: 27 cm.
The figures can be attributed to a Milanese sculptor who worked during the end of the 16th century.
The base is probably added in the 18th century.
