Große prachtvolle Konsole aus geschnitztem und vergoldetem Holz mit Porphyrplatte

Die aus Holz geschnitzte, vergoldete Konsole mit Rocaillen und reichem Blattwerk und Blüten. Die Zarge mit umlaufendem Blattfries und vorne einem nach unten hängenden reichen Blattwerk. Die vier Beine bestehend jeweils aus der Figur eines bewegten Putto, der auf einem nach unten sich verjüngenden rechteckigem Sockel steht, und mit einem Kissen auf dem Kopf und einem nach oben gerichtetem Arm die Konsolplatte hält. Die Platte, wohl späteren Datums, mit geometrischem Muster aus verschiedenen Porphyren. (1270734) (2) (18)


Large magnificent carved and gilt wood and porphyry console

Rome, 18th century

Carved and gilt wood console decorated with rocaille, opulent scrollwork and flower ornaments. A frieze of foliage revolves around the apron with richly drooping foliage at the front. Each of the four legs comprises an animated figure of a putto, standing on a tapered base and supporting the console table with a cushion on his head and one raised arm each. The tabletop, probably of a later date, is decorated with various types of porphyry in geometrical patterns.
