Ambrosius Bosschaert d. J.,
1609 – 1645

Dr. Fred Meijer, RKD, bestätigt die Echtheit des Gemäldes und betont die Exzellenz, welche das Bild im Werk des Ambrosius Bosschaert d. J. einnimmt.

Auf einer Steinplatte ein hell erleuchteter Strohkorb, prall gefüllt mit Trauben, Kirschen, Birnen, Pflaumen und Pfirsichen. Vor dem Korb sich partiell überschneidend Muscheln, Schneckengehäuse und Insekten nebst Haselnüssen. Das bisher unpublizierte Stillleben ist ein charakteristisches Werk aus der Reifephase des Bosschaert d.J., dem ältesten Sohn von Ambrosius Bosschaert d.Ä. (1573-1621). Vermutlich wurde der Maler von seinem Onkel, Balthasar van der Ast (1593/94-1657) ausgebildet und erlangte erst um 1626 seinen eigenen Stil, woraufhin vorwiegend Blumenstillleben entstanden. Früchtestillleben wie das vorliegende sind seltener.

Anmerkung:
Wie bei Laurens J. Bol „The Bosschaert Dynasty“ vermerkt, sind von Ambrosius d.J. 32 Werke bekannt (Bol, Laurens J., The Bosschaert Dynasty, Leigh-on-Sea 1960, S. 44-48), wovon das frühest datierte Gemälde mit der Jahreszahl „1616“ vermerkt ist und das bisher letztdatierte das Jahr „1643“ anführt.

As Bol records in “The Bosschaert Dynasty”, 32 works are known by Ambrosius the Younger (L.J. Bol, The Bosschaert Dynasty, Leigh-on -Sea 1960, pp. 44 - 48), of which the earliest painting is dated “1616” and the last is dated “1643”.
