Links unten monogrammiert. Rückwärtig mit Bleistift bezeichnet „Ca. 1938“, mit rotem Stift „W“, in Öl „9“, in Blau „E“ und in Bleistift „E“ (in Kreis) „nm“.

Eine hellblaue halbrunde Tischfläche setzt sich vor dem rechteckigen von Aubergine ins Bläuliche changierenden Hintergrund ab, wobei der Pinselduktus des Dargestellten das Auge kaum ruhen lässt. Mittig jedoch, das Bildfeld zentrierend, in einem durch Wellenmotive gestalteten Cachepot ein Blumenstrauß mit Kornblumen (links) und Margeriten (rechts), welche die Blau-Rot-Dominanz des Gemäldes aufsprengen und das Betrachterauge nach rechts lenken.
