Die als Gegenstücke gemalten Stillleben zeigen jeweils eine ovale, auf einer Marmorplatte stehende Vase, gefüllt mit hochgesteckten Blüten in den dominierenden Farben Rot und Weiß. Das Zentrum der Blumensträuße gebauscht, nach oben hin ziehen einzelne Blütenstengel hervor, mit großer strahlenförmiger Blüte bzw. einer roten Nelke. Die Farbigkeit elegant zurückhaltend, der Hintergrund linksseitig jeweils stärker verschattet, wovor sich die helleren Blüten abheben, nach rechts hin heller beleuchtet, wobei hier die Rottöne der Blüten zur Wirkung kommen. In beiden Stillleben drei schwingende hellblaue Königswinden, um die Farbtrias von Rot, Weiß zu Blau komplettieren.
Der Lebens- und Wirkungsweg des Künstlers ist noch nicht gänzlich erforscht, jedenfalls darf seine Lehre bei Giovan Battista Ruoppolo (1629-1693) zwingend angenommen werden, ebenso sein Einfluss von Abraham Brueghel (1631-1697) sowie Giuseppe Recco (1634-1695). Bekannt geworden ist er vor allem seiner Zeit durch seine dekorativen Malereien für den Auftraggeber Marchese del Carpio sowie sein Corpus Christi von 1684.
