Vor braunem Hintergrund, auf einem rechteckigen Stein stehend, eine hellbraune Vase, darin das feine Arrangement mit weißen Rosen. Diese werden in unterschiedlichen Stadien wiedergegeben: Teils voll aufgeblüht, teils mit Knospen und eine nach unten hängende, bereits verblühte Rose, inmitten von grünen Blättern, von denen einige auf die Platte herabgefallen sind. Feine harmonische Malerei in zurückhaltender Farbgebung mit gekonnter Hell-Dunkel-Akzentuierung.
Die Künstlerin bekam ihren ersten Unterricht von ihrem Vater und ihrem Großvater mütterlicherseits Andreas Schelfhout (1787-1870), der ihr zudem die Aquarelltechnik beibreachte. Am liebsten malte sie Blumen in ihrem meist natürlichen Zustand, in Vasen geordnet oder aber auf einer Steinplinthe. Die von ihr am häufigsten abgebildete Blumensorte waren Rosen. (1241325) (1) (18)
