Wie in vielen ihrer Stillleben zwischen 1909 und 1914 zeigt auch dieses farbenfrohe Gemälde Werke der regionalen Volkskunst, mit welchen sie sich in dieser Zeit auseinandersetzte und deren Formen und Farben sie kompositionell in ihren Stillleben abbildet. In diesem Fall sehen wir eine Tischplatte mit einer kleinen Skulptur, Christus auf der Rast darstellend nebst einer Vase vor einer polychrom staffierten schwarzen Schale. Auch religiös konnotierte oft dreidimensionale Bildwerke sind typisch für ihre Werke dieser Zeit.
