Plinthe mit aufseitigem stilisiertem Monogramm, rückwärtige Schmalseite der Plinthe mit Nummerierung „4/10“ sowie Gießerstempel „Guss Barth Rinteln“.

Der Künstler war ein deutscher Bildhauer und Grafiker. Er wirkte von 1919 bis 1924 als Lehrer am Staatlichen Bauhaus in Weimar. In der NS-Zeit wurden seine Werke in der Ausstellung „Entartete Kunst“ diffamiert. 1945 wurde er an die Landeskunstschule in Hamburg berufen und ab 1950 arbeitete er freischaffend. Er wurde vielfach geehrt und ausgezeichnet. Viele seiner Skulpturen befinden sich im öffentlichen Raum, u.a. in Lübeck, Hamburg, Köln, Nürnberg und Wiesbaden.
Der Bronzeguss mit interessanter gold-brauner Patina.
Provenienz:
Bedeutende süddeutsche Privatsammlung.
Galerie Nierendorf, 1974 anlässlich der Ausstellung zum 85. Geburtstags Marcks erworben, dort mit Nr. 48 im Katalog.

Plinth with stylized monogram on top, along narrow side on the back of the plinth limited edition number “4/10” and foundry mark “Guss Barth Rinteln”.
Bronze casting with interesting goldish-brown patina.
Provenance:
Important private collection, Southern Germany.
Galerie Nierendorf, purchased in 1974 in celebration of the exhibition for the 85th birthday of Marcks, here listed in the catalogue with no. 48.
