Kupfer gegossen, schöne Bronzepatina. Die querrechteckige Plakette zeigt im Zentrum einen unbekleideten Jüngling, seine linke Hand auf ein Füllhorn gestützt, die Rechte über einer Vase mit hochgestellter Schlange, was den Dargestellten möglicherweise als Asklepios, den Gott der Heilkunst identifizieren könnte. Links ein geflügelter weiblicher Genius mit weit ausgebreiteten Schwingen, gefolgt von zwei weiteren Figuren. Rechts zwei Männer mit einem Opferstier, dahinter ein bärtiger Priester mit Zweigen sowie Flötenspieler. Zwei weitere bekannte Reliefs dieses Themas finden sich im Salle de la petite sculpture im Château d'Écouen sowie im Bode-Museum Berlin. (1201427) (11)

RELIEF PLAQUE: HOMMAGE TO A HERO7.5 x 10.2 cm.
Accompanied by an expert's report by Rosario Coppel.
Cast copper, beautiful bronze patina. The landscape format plaque shows a naked young man at the centre, his left hand is propped up on a cornucopia, his right hand over a vase with a raised snake, which may suggest Asclepius as the depicted. Two further famous reliefs of this subject can be found in the Salle de la petite sculpture at Château d'Écouen and at the Bode-Museum, Berlin.
