Der Zar in Uniform mit Epauletten in langen Stiefeln, im Kontrapost auf achtseitigem Rasensockel in stolzer Haltung stehend, auf dem Helm der bekrönte Doppeladler Russlands. In der linken Hand der Degen. An der Vorderseite des Sockels mitgegossenes Schild in kyrillischer Bezeichnung „Nikolaus I“, an der Seite Signatur „Schrödl f. 1853“, an der Rückseite ebenfalls mitgegossenes Applizierschild mit kyrillischer Bezeichung „St. Petersburg“ mit Gießerbezeichnung „Antonius Sabedenye“ (?). Height: 61 cm.
Finely chased bronze.
Tsar Nicholas is depicted dressed in uniform with epaulettes and a helmet surmounted by the Russian double-headed eagle. The base cast with a plaque inscribed “Nicholas I” in Cyrillic at the front and another plaque inscribed “St Petersburg Foundry” in Cyrillic at the back; the side with incised signature “Schrödl f. 1853”, „Antonius Sabedenye“ (?).
This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
