Dem Gemälde beigegeben ist eine dokumentierte Aussage von Dr. Fred Meijer, RKD, mit Bestätigung der Herkunft des Bildes.
In hoher Malqualität, auf einer Steinplatte, über deren vorderen Rand ein großes von links beleuchtetes Weinblatt herabzieht, gruppieren sich Birne, Pfirsiche, blau-rötlich leuchtende Trauben sowie ein geöffneter Granatapfel mit leuchtend roten Kernen. Auf dem nach oben aufschwingenden Stängel des Rebenzweiges mit leicht herbstlich verfärbten Blättern eine Schnecke. Wirkungsvolle Beleuchtung von links, wobei sich die Gegenstände vom dunklen Hintergrund abheben.
Vergleichbare Werke („Stillleben mit Früchten“ sowie „Fruchstück mit Singvogel“) befinden sich unter Inventarnummer 187/4 und 187/5 im Staatlichen Museum Schwerin. (1071691) (11)

40 x 32.5 cm.
Signed lower left. Round rubber stamp crowned with coat of arms on stretcher.
Accompanied by a written statement by Dr. Fred Meijer, RKD, confirming van Huysum’s authorship of the painting.
Characterised by a very fine painterly quality. Comparable works “Still life with fruit” and “Fruit still life with songbird” are held at the Staatliches Museum Schwerin with inventory nos. “187/4” and “187/5”.
This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
