Besonders frühe Fassung des zentralen Immendorff-Themas aus der Bilderreihe Café Deutschland. In der Bilderreihe versammelte der Künstler unterschiedliche Vertreter der Geistes-, Kunst- und Zeitgeschichte aus West- und Ostdeutschland zu einem imaginären Treffen und kritisiert damit die Auswirkungen des Widerstreits zwischen den West- und Ostmächten USA und Sowjetunion. Am rechten Bildrand ist in den Nationalfarben Rot und Gold vor schwarzem Grund eines der stürzenden Pferde der Quadriga des Brandenburger Tors zu erkennen. Fragile, craquelierte, Farboberfläche.
