Die Kompositbasen in weißem und rot-weiß geädertem Marmor. Sockel mit fein ziselierter Lanzettblattbordüre und Basisblock mit vier perlbandumrandeten Tondi mit Merkur- bzw. Löwenkopfzier. Darauf jeweils ein Satyr in fein patinierter Bronze, neben ihm seine Instrumente bzw. Trinkgefäße, die sein Wesen ausmachen. Aus seinem Kopf bzw. aus seinen Händen erwachsend naturalistisch gestaltete Blütenstengel mit Blatt- und Blütenwerk als Leuchterarme mit jeweils einer Brennstelle, die Tülle als Blüte gestaltet.
Anmerkung I:
Pierre Gouthière war für seine Arbeiten als Ziseleur bekannt und arbeitete viel für das französische Königshaus. So fertigte er 1770 eine Schmuckschatulle für die Hochzeit der Dauphine. Dieser Auftrag bedeutete den Auftakt für eine Reihe von Bestellungen.
Anmerkung II:
Leuchterarme und Brennstellen lassen sich mit einem Leuchter im Musée du Louvre (Inv.Nr. OA 11995-11996) vergleichen. Diese von Pierre Gouthière entworfenen Leuchter wurden für den Grand Salon de l'hotel particulier von Louise-Jeanne de Durfort, Duchesse de Mazarin (1735-1781) geschaffen und ähneln unseren Leuchterarmen stark in ihrer Ausgestaltung.

Notes I:
Pierre Gouthière was a renowned French metal worker and frequently carried out commissions for the French Royal Family. In 1770 he created a jewellery box for the wedding of the Dauphine. This commission was the start of a series of orders.
Notes II:
The candelabra arms and nozzles resemble a candelabra held at the Musée du Louvre (inv. no. OA 11995-11996). These candelabras designed by Pierre Gouthière were created for the Grand Salon de l’hottel particulier by Louise Jeanne de Durfort, Duchesse de Mazarin (1735-17881) and their design is very similar to our candelabra arms.
