Die hier besprochene Tafel konnte von Andrea de Marchi Jacopo del Sellaio zugeordnet werden. Sellaio war gemeinsam mit Sandro Botticelli Schüler von Fra Filippo Lippi. Ab 1473 teilte er sich eine Werkstatt mit Filippo di Giuliano. Neben Dekorationen für Hochzeits -Cassone sind auch eine gewisse Anzahl von Tondi überliefert, welche seiner Hand zugeschrieben werden können. So etwa das Tondo im Fine Arts Museum in San Francisco (Inv. 1990.21.1), ein Tondo in der Liechtensteinischen Sammlung (Fondazione Zeri 17109), in der Alana Collection, Newark (seit 2014) und auch ein Tondo mit Anbetung des Christuskindes durch Maria im Palazzo Pitti in Florenz (Inv. Another tondo of his hand in the Fine Art Mseum, San Francisco (Inv. 1990.21.1), one in the Lichtenstein Collection (Fondazione zeri 17109), in the Alana Collection Newark (since 2014) and the Palazzo Pitti, Florence (Inv. n0. 1912, n.364).
