Rest. (12010933) (13)

STILL LIFE WITH GIRLOil on canvas. Old relining.
118.5 x 158 cm.

Accompanied by an expert's report by Professor Giancarlo Sestieri dated 29 April 2017 (original enclosed).

Sestieri attributes the female figure to Nicola Vaccaro, while the still life surrounding the figure was created by Abraham Brueghel. Brueghel, who readily had his figures painted by other painters such as Guglielmo Cortese (1628 - 1679) or Jakob Ferdinand Voet (ca. 1639 - ca. 1700), shows his impressive skill as still life painter in this large format painting. Another painting which was created in collaboration with Nicola Vaccaro was sold at Christie's London on 18 April 1997 (lot 120) and also shows a rich fruit still life with staffage figures. Restored.

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
