The bodies carved in bone, the clothes in boxwood. Old beggar couple in rags, both standing on carved grass knoll and each supporting themselves on crutches. The bearded man wears a broad-rimmed hat and shoulder bag, the woman's right hand is stretched out in a begging gesture. With minimal signs of ageing and minimal damage.
