Majolika-Sirupkanne aus der Werkstatt des Orazio Pompei

Der Krug mit breitem Henkel und Ausgusstülle in Form eines Drachenkopfes. Das symmetrisch angelegte Dekor zeigt zwei Männer in Büstenansicht, deren Profile einander zugewandt sind. Der Rahmen zieht die Kontur ihrer Köpfe nach und wurde mit Blättern verziert. Die Darstellung folgt dem sog. "Orsini Colonna"-Typ. Um den schlanken Fußteil läuft ein Band mit der Aufschrift "SY de acetosis cl" (für Essigsirup). Um die Portraits und die Aufschrift geometrische Dekore, die zum Henkel überleiten. Die Bemalung in Blau, Grün, Ocker und Gelb vor cremeweißem Fond. Glasurbrandfehler und leichter Glasurabrieb, kleine Übermalung, Tülle rest.

The depiction follows the so-called "Orsini Colonna" type. Glaze defect and light glaze wear, small overpaintings. Spout restored.
