Allegorische Darstellung der Nächstenliebe als "Caritas Romana" mit Wiedergabe einer jungen Frau im Dreiviertelbildnis, die die Brust ihrem in Gefangenschaft befindlichen Vater hinhält, um ihn vor dem Hungertod zu retten. Das Gemälde in der Tradition der Hell-Dunkel-Auffassung unter Betonung von weichem Sfumato, wobei die Beleuchtungsregie in hervorragender Qualität vorgeführt wird. Die junge Frau mit äußerst anmutigem Gesicht hat den Kopf nach links geneigt und ihre Augenlieder leicht gesenkt. (930253)
