Nahezu kugelförmig-ovaloide Form mit einziehendem, gekehltem Hals. Umziehend ganzheitlich bemalt in Dunkelblau, Smaragdgrün, Ockergelb, Hellgelb und Mangan. Die umlaufende Dekoration blaugrundig, darauf geschweifte Akanthusblätter und -blüten, dazwischen Eichelfrüchte. An der Vorderseite hochovale, von Blattfestons gerahmte Kartusche mit Büstendarstellung eines bärtigen Mannes mit Helm in Rüstung nach links. An der Rückseite kleinere, hochovale, wappenförmige Kartusche, rollwerkartig smaragdgrün gerahmt mit Tierfratzendekoration. Im Wappen drei jugendliche Männerbüsten, darunter drei gebrochene Lanzen mit den Buchstaben "MRL". Das Wappen seitlich gehalten von geharnischten Figuren mit weit ausschwingenden Tüchern im Groteskenstil. Minimale altersbedingte Ausbrüche an der Lippe. (882015)


A Large Maiolica Vase
Height: 35.5 cm.
Venice, 16th century.

Maestro Domenico ("bocaler"). An almost spherical-oval shape with a drawn-in neck. The entire surface painted in dark blue, emerald green, yellow ochre, light green, and manganese. In a coat of arms shaped cartouche are the busts of three young men, under which are three broken lances with the letters "MRL". Minimal age-related chips on the lip.
