Auf festen Bütten vierstrophiges Gedicht mit vier Versen in Paarreim an einen Freund namens Gritly. Leicht altersfleckig. Unter Passepartout und Glas gerahmt. Die sonstigen schriftlichen Zeugnisse Jakob Sarasins sind weitgehend unveröffentlicht und befinden sich als Teil des Sarasinschen Privatarchivs im Staatsarchiv Basel-Stadt.
Jakob Sarasin-Battier (26. Januar 1742 Basel - 10. September 1802 Basel) war während der Aufklärung eine feste Größe im kulturellen Geschehen der Schweizer Gesellschaft. Das von dem Seidenfabrikant und Schriftsteller erbaute und bewohnte „Weiße Haus“ in Basel war damals ein kultureller Treffpunkt und ist noch heute ein architektonisches Wahrzeichen der Stadt.
