Darstellung Ludwig XVI. von Frankreich (1754 - 1793) aus dem Haus der Bourbonen, Herzog von Berry, ab 1774 König von Frankreich und Navarra. Letzter König des Ancième Regime, im Zuge der französischen Revolution zum Tode verurteilt. Seine Gemahlin war Marie Antoinette von Österreich.
Der König stehend wiedergegeben, in reicher Kleidung mit Hermelinmantel und Perücke, mit Lilienzepter und Rotulus. Links ein Hocker mit Kissen und Krone. Feine Schnitzarbeit von hoher Qualität, die die Gesichtszüge des Königs naturgetreu wiedergibt. Figur und Sockel auf separat gearbeiteter ovaler Elfenbeinplinte. Schöne Alterspatina. (8117820)
