Der bärtige Heilige stehend dargestellt, das lockige Haar fällt auf den roten Mantel herab. In der linken Hand den Helm, in der rechten das Schwert haltend. Holzgeschnitzt, gefasst und bemalt. Die Rüstung ehemals wohl versilbert, jetzt schwarz oxidiert. Bart und Locken fein und tief geschnitzt, das Gesicht ausdrucksvoll. Ikonografisch gedeutet könnte es sich um die Darstellung des heiligen Jakob handeln, der als Patron von Spanien (Maurentöter) und Innsbruck (Patron der Krieger) in dieser Erscheinungsform seit dem 15. Jahrhundert verehrt wird und der Legende nach schon auf die Kämpfe Karls des Großen eingewirkt haben soll. Rest. Erg. (740714)
