Relief “Marientod“
Holzgeschnitztes, gefasstes und teilvergoldetes Relief vom Typus des Hochreliefs. Es thematisiert den Marientod mit dem Schwerpunkt auf die empfangene Kommunion Mariens vor ihrem Tod im Beisein der Apostel. Die bereits geschwächte Maria wird von Johannes Evangelista von hinten gehalten; sie umfasst die ihr von einem ebenfalls knienden Apostel gereichte Kerze. Die Mimik der Apostel spiegelt unterschiedlichste Gefühlsregungen zum absehbaren Tod Mariens wider. Am expressivsten ist der vor Trauer aufschreiende Johannes. Begrenzt wird das Geschehen durch zwei fragmentarisch erhaltene Säulen sowie dem Bett Mariens mit Himmel. Dominierende Farben: Grün, Rot und Reste von Gold. Altersbedingte Abschabungen.
