In der Mitte signiert: Bosschaert
Auf einem grauen, sonnenbeschienenen Steintisch steht eine Glasvase mit einem farbenfrohen Blumenstrauß. Das Weiß der Iris, das zart changierende Rosa der Rose sowie die rot-gelb gestreifte Tulpe heben sich prachtvoll vom Grau der Rückwand ab. Inmitten des Straußes auf den Blütenkelch eines gelben Krokus sitzt ein Schmetterling. Der scheinbar alldauernden Frische des Blumenstraußes wird durch die herabgefallenen Blütenblätter und das links davon befindliche Veilchen die Vergänglichkeit allen Schönen gegenübergestellt.
