Laut Einlieferer ehemals mit einem Gutachten von Dr. Walther Bernt von 1968, der das Gemälde Mathys Schoevaerdts zuweist.
Eine von Hügeln durchzogene Landschaft, deren teils mehrgeschossigen Häuser sich der Steigung der Hügel anpassen, bietet genügend Raum für einen im Licht schimmernden Wasserlauf, tanzende Figuren, einen Tross Reisender gen Vordergrund und zahlreiche mit dem sommerlichen Himmel kontrastierende Bäume. Das vorliegende Gemälde ähnelt kompositionell stark einem Schoevaerdts zugeschriebenen Gemälde (40 x 57,5 cm), das beim RKD unter Nummer 269909 geführt wird.
Schoevaerdts war Schüler von Adriaen Frans Boudewijns (1644-1719), sein letztes datiertes Gemälde stammt von 1702.

According to the consignor the painting was formerly accompanied by an expert’s report by Dr Walther Bernt from 1968, attributing the painting to Mathys Schoevaerdts. The composition of the present painting is very similar to a painting attributed to Schoevaerdts (40 x 57.5 cm) listed at the RKD with no. 269909.
