Darstellung aus der biblischen Geschichte des Kampfes von David gegen den Riesen Goliath. Links am Rand der junge David mit leuchtend rotem Umhang, mit seinen Händen einen langen Stab mit dem übergroßen Kopf des Riesen nach oben haltend, auf dessen Stirn ein roter Blutfleck sichtbar ist. Diesen hatte er mit einer Steinschleuder an der Stirn getroffen und mit seinem Schwert das Haupt abgeschlagen. Rechts von ihm musizierende und leicht tanzende Frauengestalten mit Triangel, Tamburin und Blasinstrument, die seinen Triumph feiern, links neben David ein geharnischter Soldat.
