Durch einen hohen Arkadenbogen fällt der Blick auf die gut besuchte Piazetta mit dem Dogenpalast und weiteren Gebäuden entlang des Canal Grande. Im Hintergrund geht langsam die Sonne hinter einer großen Wolkenformation unter; ihre letzten Sonnenstrahlen beleuchten harmonisch die Stadtansicht von Venedig und das Wasser, auf dem zahlreiche Boote und Gondeln schippern. Im Vordergrund einige Händler beim Tragen von Paketen und Körben sowie eine Frau mit rotem Kopftuch und einem Hund, die unter dem Bogen sitzt, der zur Biblioteca Marciana gehört. Stimmungsvolle Wiedergabe mit gekonnter Lichtführung. (12821041) (18)
