Paar qualitätvolle Athéniennes

In Marmo Giallo di Siena gearbeitetete Möbel. Auf rechteckigem Grund mit gekappten Ecken der amorphe Aufbau einer Mittelvertikalen. Darum angeordnet drei auf Löwentatzenfüßen stehenden, nach außen gerichteten Streben mit plastischem Weinrankenrelief und reliefierten Löwenköpfen als Kapitell. Darin die niedrige Kuppa mit Zungenfries, Kymation und inwandiger Blütenschnitzerei.

Provenienz:
Gemäß der Einlieferertradtion aus dem Königshaus Württemberg.

Anmerkung 1:
Wie auch in Frankreich orientierte sich in Italien die Mode der Inneneinrichtung an der Antike, in diesem Fall etwa an Möbeln, wie sie in der Villa des Hadrian gefunden wurden und in den Kapitolinischen Museen in Rom verwahrt werden. Ein dortiger Dreifuß wurde etwa von Domenico Pronti 1776 festgehalten (Vergleichsabb.) und gilt als möglicher Einflussgeber auf weitere sogenannte Athéniennes wie die hier angebotenen.

According to the tradition of the seller from the estate of the royal house of Württemberg.

Notes:
As was the case in France and Italy at the time, the interior design fashion took inspiration from classical antiquity, for example in furniture found at Hadrian’s Villa and today held at the Capitoline Museums in Rome. A tripod there was captured by Domenico Pronti in 1776 (see illustration for comparison) and is considered a potential source of inspiration for further so called Athéniennes, as the ones on offer for sale in this lot.
An Athénienne tripod, similar to the present ones, is held at the Château d’Agliè.
