Anbei in Kopie ein Restaurierungsbericht von Maike Behrends, Dresden, 9. November 2011.

(1250113) (13)

Carved tondo

Diameter: 61.5 cm.
Piedmont, ca. 1480.

A copy of the restoration report by Maike Behrends, Dresden, 9 November 2011, is enclosed.

Swiss pine, gilt wax stars, with polychromy and gilding. Three-dimensionally carved pinewood angel holding the Veil of Veronica in its hands. The flesh tones are in good, professionally restored condition. The tondo was probably originally part of an interior ceiling decoration as a boss ornament of a vaulted ceiling or wall ornament.

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
