In zylindrischen vergoldeten Bronzesabots mit Perlbanddekor die kegelförmigen, nach oben auslaufenden Beine mit blockhaften Kapitellen, mit gegossenen und ziselierten Tuchfestons, übers Eck gelegt. Die gerade Zarge mit drei Schüben, die Schübe und Seiten mit schwarzem Japanlack, Goldlackmalerei auf schwarzem Fond, Vögel inmitten von Landschaften darstellend mit Architekturstaffage. Die Schlüsselschilder als gekreuzte Fackel- und Pfeilköcher dargestellt. Leicht überkragende, den Zügen des Möbels folgende Deckplatte mit umlaufendem feuervergoldeten gestuften Bronzedekor und zentral eingelegter, goldpunzierter brauner Lederschreibplatte, inmitten von Schwarzlackfond. Der Korpus in Eiche gearbeitet. Ein Schlüssel vorhanden.

Guillaume Beneman war einer der bekanntesten Pariser Ebenisten der Zeit, lernte in Deutschland und kam geschult nach Paris, wo er sich in der Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine niederließ und 1785 Meister wurde. Seine beliebten Möbel finden sich u.a. im Paul Getty Museum (Kommode um 1785), ein Bureau plat aus seiner Hand befindet sich in der Waddesdon Manor Collection, aber auch in der Wrightsman Collection im Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York (Sekretär). In cylindrical gilt bronze sabots with bead and reel décor, the cone-shaped legs with block-shaped capitals with cast and chased cloth festoons draped across dthe corners. The straight apron with three drawers, the drawers and sides decorated in black Japanese lacquer, gold lacquer paint on black background, birds among landscapes with architectural staffage. The escutcheons are designed as crossed torches and quivers. The slightly projecting top follows the table's outline with revolving fire-gilt and graduated bronze décor and central inlaid brown leather panel with gilt embossing amidst black lacquer background. Structure in oak. With one key.

Guillaume Beneman was one of the most famous cabinet makers of Paris at the time. He was apprenticed in Germany and came to Paris, where he settled at the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine and became a master in 1785. His popular pieces of furniture can be found, among others at the Paul Getty Museum (commode ca. 1785), a bureau plat at the Waddesdon Manor Collection, but also at the Wrightsman Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York (secretary).
